Hypnotherapy for stress in London and online
Space to understand the pressure you are carrying and practise a different response to it.
Stress can follow you home. You may finish work but keep replaying conversations, anticipating tomorrow or feeling that you should still be doing something. Even a quiet evening can feel difficult to settle into.
In our sessions, we make room to understand both the pressures around you and the responses that have become familiar. The aim is to explore how you would like to respond, while recognising that some demands need practical changes as well as coping skills.
What would you like to be different?
Perhaps you want to leave work at work, feel less driven by a need to get everything right, or notice tension before it builds. We start with your own examples and agree what useful progress would look like for you.
We might explore:
- difficulty switching off after work or caring responsibilities
- a cycle of pressure, overthinking and physical tension
- perfectionism or expectations that leave little room for rest
- responding to everyday demands without feeling constantly on alert
If persistent worry is central to your experience, you may also want to read about hypnotherapy for anxiety. If the difficulty is mainly at bedtime, explore sleep-focused sessions.
How we might work together
My approach draws on cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, or Hypno-CBT. We discuss the situation, the thoughts it brings, what happens in your body and what you tend to do next. We then choose exercises together.
For example, we might practise progressive muscle relaxation to notice holding and releasing tension, or use imaginal rehearsal to explore handling a demanding conversation. Coping statements can help you practise a response such as “I can pause before I answer”. Mindful awareness can give us a way to notice the pattern before automatically following it.
These are examples, not a set programme. We review your experience and may agree a small exercise to practise between appointments. Hypnotherapy cannot remove an unmanageable workload or solve every external pressure; those circumstances are part of the conversation too.
